Q: What is the current impact of COVID-19 and the economy - are things looking better?

A: The markets continue to reflect a belief that recovery will come sooner as the national economy reopens. A few weeks ago, we said that recovery would be regional, and that continues to be true for the economy AND for the pandemic. As Brad McMillan explains in a helpful update here , we are “at the end of the beginning.”
National numbers are encouraging, but testing needs to increase, both quantity and speed, to make sure that any resurgence can be identified and isolated. Continued distancing and careful hygiene practices also remain important.
The nationwide protests do pose a risk of a second wave, though we will not know for several weeks.
